Join the Human Services Network board, volunteers and special guests for our Member Relaxation and Networking Happy Hour. We’ll be hosting all of the wonderful people--yourself included--who have made The Network the great organization it is today; celebrating our milestones; and toasting to our future. Complimentary beverages and snacks. We will enjoy some wonderful wellness presentations and techniques, including:

  • Joanne McClain of the Financial Health Institute will be presenting a brief session on relaxation techniques for attendees. Joanne will be presenting a workshop on the same subject later in the year.
  • Kimberly Ruzicka B.A,CNTP will present a short segment on nutrition and wellness
  • Carol Baxter, Massage Therapist will be there to provide chair massages for tips.

No fee. Please be our guest. You are encouraged to bring a colleague you’d like to introduce to the Network. If you decide to get a massage, please tip generously.


Presenter Bios

Joanne McLain,  Director at the Financial Health Institute. Joanne is a counselor, consultant, e-learning designer and writer. She has over thirty years of experience working with people to help them gain skills to create the life they want to live. Her experience includes six years with the Elbert County Department of Human Services, where she was the Deputy Director and managed Family Programs including services for families involved in Child Welfare, Adult Protection, and all benefits programs.  Joanne has been a mental health and substance abuse counselor in a variety of settings, including community mental health centers, private practice, nursing homes, volunteer fire department, emergency rooms and inpatient units.  Joanne has a Master’s Degree in Psychology, is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Addictions Counselor.  She also earned a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and Innovation from the University of Colorado-Denver.


Kimberly Ruzicka B.A,CNTP. Kim is a Certified Nutrition Therapy Practitioner. She earned her CNTP degree designation from the nationally accredited Nutrition Therapy Institute (NTI) in Denver, CO. The NTI program for integrative holistic nutrition specializes in training nutrition specialists in one-on-one wellness counseling and coaching. Kimberly practices with a strong sense of passion, purpose and compassion.  She is excited to help you achieve your health and wellness goals!


Carol Baxter brings over 26 years experience as a certified massage therapist and a lifetime of listening to offer you a 10-minute chair massage, this Thursday; donations gratefully accepted.  She has offices in Denver and Elizabeth and is committed to supporting each person's unique journey in self-care, towards greater well-being, wholeness, balance and self-healing.  Inquiries delightedly received at 303-646-2942.
