This training will explain and clarify what Home and Community Based (HCBS) Waivers are and how to refer Health First Colorado members.

Who qualifies for a waiver and what type of services will they receive? Who determines eligibility for waivers? Attend this training to find out the answers to these questions and more. Learn to identify when and how to refer Health First Colorado members for these additional services and supports..

PresenterBecky McKinney is an Education and Design Unit (EDU) Training Specialist for the Department of Health Care Policy and Financing. For the past several years, Becky has worked closely with State staff, county partners, stakeholders and citizens of Colorado to develop effective training solutions. Prior to joining the EDU, Becky’s experience includes working as a training and policy specialist for the Health Care and Economic Security Staff Development Center (SDC), the Governor’s Office of Information Technology (OIT), and the Colorado Department of Human Services (CDHS) Food Assistance Program. She also worked with the Office of Colorado Benefits Management System (CBMS) as the Centralized Data Entry Team (CDET) Supervisor and as an Eligibility Specialist at Adams County Department of Human Services. Becky possesses years of experience and knowledge on a variety of Assistance Programs and Systems, including CBMS, Trails, Medical Assistance, Food Assistance, Cash Programs, and audits.

Attendees are eligible for up to one and a half (1.5) hours CEU.
